Hi and welcome to by blog! My name is Aubrey and I'm sewer, a crafter and a LOVER of gorgeous fabric. I got a sewing machine for Christmas 7 years ago. It sat on my shelf for a few years. When my youngest turned a year old I decided to pull my sewing machine off the shelf and sew a cute 4th of July outfit for her. I went to Joannes, picked out some {okay} fabric, picked out a {what I thought would be} simple pattern. Determined and excited I started my project. Cut out my fabric and tried for follow the directions. Well...turns out it was way harder than I thought it would be...way more confusing...and I gave up. Put my sewing machine back on the shelf for a few more years.
After my best friend started sewing adorable outfits for her daughter I decided to give it another try. I discovered crayon rolls on Skip to my Lou and decided to start with a simple project. I made a bunch for my nieces and nephew for Christmas. They were cute...but my sewing needed a lot of work! Then I discovered PDF sewing patterns at You Can Make This. Wow...changed my whole perspective on sewing. All of a sudden sewing made sense. And with a little practice...I got pretty good!
And finally I discovered "designer" fabrics. Love, love, love! They transformed my cute sewing projects into adorable sewing projects. I realized that cute fabric made all the difference in the outcome of my projects.
So this blog is for anyone who thinks that sewing is too hard to learn. I'm here to say that anyone can learn to make adorable clothes or projects...and it is so much fun! I have some adorable patterns in the works, tons of tutorials, and a fabric shop coming soon! I hope that you'll get some inspiration and come back often!
